Warranty Policy: Repairs & Services

Effective Date: 29 Nov 2025

1. Introduction

This policy outlines the warranty terms for repair services provided by Bendigo Smartphones (“we”, “us” or “our”). It applies to the original customer (“you”) and is not transferable.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • to cancel your service contract with us; and
  • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

In addition to these rights, we provide the following voluntary warranty.

2. Warranty Coverage & Duration

Bendigo Smartphones offers a 6-Month Warranty on all general repairs (screens, batteries, charging ports, etc.).

  • Start Date: The warranty period begins on the date you collect your repaired device.
  • Scope: We warrant that the parts we use are free from defects and that our workmanship is of a professional standard. If a part we installed fails or exhibits performance issues during the warranty period, we will repair or replace it free of charge.

Note: Microsoldering repairs are subject to a separate warranty policy.

3. Warranty Exclusions (What is NOT covered)

This warranty does not cover:

  • Physical Damage: Cracks, dents, or broken glass caused by drops or impacts after the device has left our store.
  • Liquid Damage: Any failure caused by liquid ingress, moisture, or exposure to extreme environments.
  • Tampering: If the device is opened, modified, or repaired by anyone other than Bendigo Smartphones, this warranty is immediately void.
  • Software Issues: Our warranty covers physical hardware only. It does not cover software glitches, data loss, or issues caused by software updates (e.g., iOS/Android updates).
  • Consumables: Normal depletion of consumable parts (such as batteries) over time, unless the degradation is due to a manufacturing defect within the 6-month period.
  • Water Resistance: As noted in our Repair Terms, we cannot guarantee the water resistance of a device after it has been opened. Liquid damage occurring after a repair is not covered.

4. Claims Procedure

If you believe your device has a fault related to our repair, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Call (03) 4416 2838 or email [email protected].
  2. Assessment: Bring the device to our store at 5 King Street, Bendigo VIC 3550. You must provide your proof of purchase (receipt).
  3. Diagnosis: Our technicians will inspect the device to confirm the fault is related to the original repair and not due to new damage (e.g., a new drop or water).

5. Remedies

  • Valid Claim: If the issue is covered by warranty, we will repair the device at no cost to you. If a repair is not possible or practical, we may offer a refund of the original repair cost.
  • Invalid Claim: If the diagnosis reveals the issue is due to user damage (e.g., cracked LCD under the glass) or an unrelated fault, we will provide a quote for the new repair. You are under no obligation to proceed.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Bendigo Smartphones is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profits arising from the use or inability to use the device.

7. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
